Ok, so I'm trying to take up mapping again......not that I've ever mapped before; I'm just trying to learn now..:D

Anyway, when I go to compile my map I get this error:

My guess by the "Socket_error" part is that its your firewall I had an error like that on Battlefield 2. Its just because I didnt allow it internet access. Check your firewall. If its not then I dont know sry

no you dont need net cuase my nets goin off all the time (wireless) and it works fine :P

Theres an option somewhere inside GTK called BSP Monitoring and that needs the internet. He probably has it turned off like i do since mine goes on and off too.

Try turning that off.

Ok, I shut off BSP monitoring, but I STILL can't compile!!

I guess it's putting some stuff in a "junk.txt" for some reason and it STILL won't compile!

I don't think I did anything to screw up Radiant. I think I messed up my grid settings though, but that shouldn't have anything to do with compiling.

Has anyone here who has made/compiled maps had this many problems??

I'm on a limited XP account, could that have anything to do with it?

BTW, where will it store compiled maps?

Limited account may cause a prob but im not sure of it. And normally it will put the bsp in your gamedata/base/maps folder. Unless you saved the map in a different folder then it should be in there.

And that log looks fine. Looks like a very small map though

Ummmmm.....yeah....that's the map I was working on; the small one room with a light and player start entities.

But it's not compiling for some reason :confused:

Also, is there any tutorial that explains the choices under the BSP menu?

They changed a lot since Rich's tutorial. Now they're all cryptic and such...:confused:
