The answer to questions 1 and 3 is via shader remapping (well, one possible answer anyways). Here is a lovely tutorial to explain it :Map-Craft - Tutorial Profile: Shader Remapping

Question 2, models are only made solid via addition of new brushes in some form, whether manually or by the compiler. You can also use "pseudo-clipping" via a small, solid, invisible entity such as misc_model_health_power_converter, though this method is highly inefficient and its area of application is very small. If you do want to know more about it, though, send me a pm.

If you add "spawnflags 2" to a model, it will make it auto-solid. However, ONLY use it on a medium-to-low poly model. Also, be aware that it will probably break your ability to noclip through walls.

I'd suggest getting Darth G's entity definition files. Map-Craft ยป Downloads
