Is it possible to create a grav lift like those seen in Halo 2 with GTKRadiant for JK3, or would I have to get knee deep in scripting, which I don't know how to do yet? I need something to bring players down at a constant speed, while restricting the players movement to none when on the lift. And no damage, either. And not like an elevator, just like a beam of light that's all floaty and brings the pig smellies to the destination when they enter. I have no idea how to solve this, just like my other hardware problem (not compiling light at all with Radiant 1.5 and Windows XP.). I actually just now use 1.4 raven to do lighting, and 1.5 for mapping. (Cause 1.4 sux for mapping.) The floaty beam of light thing sounds like a .efx file that needs to be made.
you can use a trigger_push to throw someone through the air, it's sort of similar.
That sounds...painful. Also, this is to be a one way lift between two floors, but goin' down. It always hurts ALOT alot when aiming push triggers straight down. I also was thinkin' of a more controlled descent, not one that, jedi or not, would leave you unable to feel your legs. :) About the beam, no efx files, but I did think of using a bunch of lights colored purple and white aimed down (spotlights.) Then, have some crazy junk goin on with multiple entities. I just don't know what to do there...and the map just wouldnt be the same without it. Boohoo. Aaah well, I guess we'll figure it out sometime. I dont have any deadlines, so no worries.

Might be better to use an "animated" non-solid texture rather than trying to line up an efx effect that large. In JK2 there was a tube on Artus Prime with a fan at the bottom which slowed you down as you fell towards it. I don't know how it works though.
What exactly is this "halo 2 elevator" like?
if you remember, there was a level in jk2 sp where a fan slowed your descent. Its perfectly possible, you juts need a trigger_push with a very small value which slows your descent speed.
If you remember, I just said there was one in JK2...
