OK, i am somewhat of a newb with mapping, so just stick with me please. I have 2 questions. The first is how do u get things like computers and beds into the game, is it a .md3 file or a brush. If they are .md3 files, could u tell me a place to go that i can get those files. Also i want to make an elevator and was wondering if i could be pointed to a tutorial that has information on how to do it. Thanks

1. You have to make computers, beds etc with brushes manually. 2. http://richdiesal.jedioutcastmaps.com/tutorials/br201lsn6.html

Well... not nesessarily... there are console models. Right click anywhere on the grid, click misc, then choose misc_model, another window should pop up, click map_objects then click any folder you see there to see what models it has. You will need to cover the model with system/clip because MD3s are not solid, MD3 clip is a see through shader (you wont see it in game) but it makes it solid. Theres a tutorial for adding models in RichDiesals site.

well I was under the impression that he was speaking about custom models, not game models

I know about that tutorial, but it isn't finished. So if you could maybe point me in one that is finished, that would be great.

Also if there is a way to make walls that you could pass through, that would be great.

for a walk threw wall, put a systems/noclip brush up where u want the wall to be then texture only one side (Shift+Ctrl+click). that should work
