uZii;5480497I have not said it was mine, I am editing it for -=TSE=-Emperor Hanzo. From my TSE, Clan. He thinks the origional is to plain. BTW, are you Sato, School of war Map? Seto?
Hi, I am the Seto of whom you speak. Most likely the kind of modifications you are looking to do are those explained in the link posted by Jeff_Katarn. I recommend you read there and don't even worry about GTK Radiant (it is not needed). If you have some specific kind of questions, send me a PM and I will try to help out. As for my two cents on map decompiling... well, the JKA EULA is quite clear that "new levels" include modifications of existing content provided with the software, meaning the act of editing a default map by itself is perfectly legal. There is, however, that annoying clause at the beginning about not being allowed to disassemble or decompile the software... So that kind of leaves only entity modding left as a legal safezone. One could, perhaps, use precedents of reverse engineering for the purpose of interoperability as legal justification for the decompilation of a base map according to the new level definition...
Seto :) I love your map, and I will certainly ask you any questions :) Thank you guys for all of your replies!
EDIT** What do you mean I don't need GTK Radiant? Can I do this IN-GAME?
Seto, do you have xfire, PM is being gay, and how do you rotate textures in gtk, anyone?

Surface inspector. Select a face (or brush) and press 'S'.
Okay, there are random things blocking walls i need TO GET TO, LIKE, it is an overlay, and says shader not found... i think it could be doing something with doors, elevators, or something in those? How can I hide that?

Then there's a whole list of things you can temporarily make invisible in the editor such as brushes, patches, triggers, entities, lights, models, etc.
Awesome, thankiess! Oh by the way, if I delete some portions of the map, like clips, or translusent peices, will the map have to be dled? Because I want to delete some translusent place to get up to those places with a new elevator or something of that sort, anyone? I am editing the map, or is there anyway to make these phantom, without redl?
I have a suggestion.
Your clan leader, or something like that, wants to use a base map and customize it; but this is a computer.
Why not just make a brand new map, with all sorts of neato doo-dads to boot? I say: Convince the guy that he would prefer new content instead of bland base stuff. If he doesn't like the base map as-is, then why use it at all in the first place, I ask?
Really. Try convincing this guy. A Space-ship would be cool, right? Or maybe a base of some sort?
It'd be more, harder work- but it'll be used forever.

Virtually any BSP modification (sans entity data) will require a new download (Brushes, patches, textures, etc) Entity modding won't require a new download.
-To General Jaxun, Yes a spaceship would be nice, but he wants this current map, edited, he loves this map, he NEVER changes it unless we have a trial for ranking.
-To Raz0r, How would I re-texturize, without dled? You'd think that entity modding would require dl, but, how could I go about this without redl?
