I am a member of The Triumvirate, a Jedi Knight-clan. This is our forum: The Triumvirate I am looking for a mapper with some serious skills. If you go to our forum, and look to the right, you will see that The Triumvirate will be hosting next years Jedi Outcast World Cup. That is why I want YOU to create an amazing new map to play the games on.
When I say "a mapper with some serious skills", I mean that you will have to be able to create maps with visuals like this, or if possible... better: Movie Battles II - Battle Over Coruscant Preview - YouTube
If you decide to make it, you will be known as a hero, and The Triumvirate will praise you forever. :bows:
I should also add that I do have blueprints of the map ready, as well as all information of what it should look like.
If you want more information, contact me in this thread, or send me a PM.
Thank you, and may the Force be with you.
So, in a stretched-thin modding community, you want the best available mapper to create an exclusive map for a clan noone's heard of using exactly what as a design brief?
Yeah...that map you posted is arguably the best map for JK3. I think everyone will agree that it's at least ONE of the best JK3 maps. Good luck finding a mapper of those skills to make your clan map.

People have heard about us. :uhoh: I am just posting around on different forums, trying to find someone. I am not totally sure that I am going to find anyone, but there is always a chance.
What the map should look like is already decided, and put on paper.

Yes, indeed. If not here, do you know any other place I can serach for, or hire, a mapper?
Darth Norman is not mapping anymore, so I think you will have no luck with your clan map ;)
In my old forum we had a special FAQ-thread about clan-map requests :D
If you have a blueprints you should post them first, but keep in mind, they should be at least that good, as the map you have requested :deal:
I have about dozen of unfinished clan maps on my hd, because the clans were dead, before I was able to finish the maps ...
Just, my 5 cent.
The blueprints are that good, too bad, I don't have them here at the moment. :)
What about you, Arth? How good are you, and is your old forum totally dead?
I'm afraid i'm not good enough ;)
I know Darth Norman very well and we were part of the same communtiy for many years, but I never reached his level of mapping design. He is definitively the better texture artist and lever designer. ;)
You can see few of my maps on my page gallery.
If I should be honest, I'm tired of clan mapping after all the years.
But for some reason I'm curious about your blueprints ;)
You can send them to me via email, the contact data are on my page.
Than we will see...
Everyone here is pretty much right. You are setting your expectations too high, especially for a clan mapper.
The more experienced mappers like, Szico, Norman, and myself for example have moved away from clan maps for the reasons Arth said above, and the fact that clans are picky and want some pretty stupid things in their maps. Basically, the designer doesn't have tons of freedom.
A designer also has to be careful when someone else provides the blueprint, as a lot of the time (in my experience) pays no real regard to how JKA handles VIS, and how inefficient it is in terms of performance.
Most of those still willing to do clan maps are much lower par compared to Norman. So don't get your hopes up. Doing a map on the scale of Battle Over Coruscant, or my personal Republic Assault Cruiser takes a lot of time, even years. I know for sure that Norman took longer than 1 year for BOC, and I know for sure I took more than 3 years for RC. And only the MBII version of it is released.
I hope you end up finding what you're looking for, just don't set expectations too high. A lot of experienced mappers have left JKA.
I would like to point out, that Norman is indeed one of the best mappers in the community. I have to work with his MBII version of Battle Over Coruscant. The .map source file is such a refresher. I am used to seeing maps with terrible brushwork, vis, and overall optimization and sense in the design. I also have source files for multiple other norman .maps, and they're all beautiful. That is something that cannot be said for LDJ, or SJC maps, at all. Those are some of the most horrid maps I have ever seen.
I have heard of your clan, and know they have been around for a long time, so good luck!
