I've been a mapper for a while but never had this problem. I was making a Kokiri forest map but forgot about it for a while and started again today, the first time i compiled it my custom textures wouldn't show up. They showed up last time i compiled the map a few months ago, any ideas?

lets see, the textures are in textures/kokiriforest and all numbered with short names. they show up in gtkradiant and i can load the folder of textures in the texture box. they all have valid dimensions too. I also forgot to mention something, I didn't put it in a pk3 before loading it.

There are a few things it could be. But I always forget to add my shader names to the shaderlist.txt

Ok so i was using a shader and got rid of it, it fixed it for a bit but after a while the problem decided to come back. and parts of the fence I'm making are disappearing now.

EDIT: i checked the console and the only weird thing i found was this: Map Holes File Name:kokiriforest_holes.cfg Map Blocking Holes Config File: error reading file kokiriforest_holes.cfg, or no holes config file for this map!

Heres an ingame screenshot if it helps and also one of how it looks in gtkradiant

Spoiler: Show

I have no idea what that error message means, but when going in-game, are you going in SP or MP mode? If you are testing the map in MP mode, you need to make sure sv_pure 0 is set before you load the map, so that the game will look outside of PK3s (and inside appropriately named folders in the base folder) to find necessary files.

Also, from the in-game screenshot you took, it's hard to see whether the whole fence is there or not, due to everything being untextured.

I've had one eyebrow raised since I read "Map Blocking Holes Config File: error reading file kokiriforest_holes.cfg, or no holes config file for this map!" It seems to be a real error message, found when people are asking why their servers aren't running. But I'm lost as to what it means. Since when do we need a .cfg for holes?

Is there such a file anywhere in your base?

I find that my installations usually prefer pk3's, especially when I'm using any shaders. That could still be it. pk3 it. Otherwise texture problems are filepath mistakes that you wanna slap yourself for not seeing sooner.

I can only guess, but holes sounds like Leaks to me - Does Q3Map2 complain about "Map Leaked" during compile?

About the textures not showing up: As someone already mentioned it's probably MP without sv_pure 0.

:/...That's just a JA+ server-side message saying the wall-blocking feature isn't enabled. Nothing to do with the map.

The problem fixed itself... again... although the transparent fence problem still remains
