Hey, I have been playing Gear of War for a while now, have started to make the lancer weapon (machine gun with chainsaw attached from Gears of War) and I was just wondering if any one would take up the challenge of making a model for him. Ill post some ref pics:

If, if that guy fits the skeleton, he'll look like utter crap during animations. The clipping and deformation will be as fugly as a Numel due to his bulk.

I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

Lol, nicely put Kouen, though this model would work on UT2004!

That's like asking someone to make a Protoss more humanoid. :p

I suppose it could be done, but then you wouldn't have Marcus Fenix, you'd have Mel Gibson wearing cheap knock-off imitation armor. :lookaround:

Still, if you're willing to compromise, you probably should have mentioned it. Modellers like compromises, gives them more room to work.

no..not..if you do it properly... Im pretty sure it could fit the skeleton, Off course Im 100% sure of how good it will look holding a lightsaber -_-

We do? ... Not..every modeler is the same :/ This isn't a flame towards you kouen (Nevar! <3) but the JKA community really needs to stop talking about modelers as if they are gods which have rules etc set before they even do anything.. modelers are ppl too! ;_;

Uhh... OK, lemme step back and rephrase.

"As an average capacity, modders in general tend to prefer projects where they have freedom to move around and take a bit of creative licence, rather than projects where the whole thing is set in stone."

My point is just that compromises are good, because they give the modder in question the ability to do things in the way they see fit and to improve on things.

Out of all the modders I know, there's only two of them who disagree with that notion - and those two work in CAD, so I'd expect that from them.

So, no offense intended to anyone, my intention was merely to reiterate a common opinion.

Also, while I'm sure a model of those dimensions could be worked onto the skeleton, it's the deformations which give me cause for concern.

Meh i guess its true about the compromises but nothing here is set in stone ;) I speak for myself when i say: I only offer compromises when I see its hard(ly) possible to fullfill the request on that moment. I might actually do him... not like that.. perv... But thats if i have time.. Its quite a challenge =) I love challanges.. I the proportions wouldnt directly fit the skeleton as in gears of war but it would still come pretty close..

Ok well, I guess anyone from Gears of War would be cool with me :) Also, theres a generic dude that is a lot less bulky and has a helmet and blue armor, but i couldnt get any good pics besides early pics where the look really bulky (in game, they are at least twice as skinny as the main characters).
