Any of you who have played Mass Effect, youll know this place. The entire Presidium area of the Citadel. THATS why I need some help with it. Ive got an offer for textures and a possible mapper so far, mapper being Xenon_05, and we would appreciate any other offers for help on this. We need someone who can make some fairly simple effects, like water jets going straight up like a fountain. Ive tried EffectEd, and I cant control it at all...nor can I get a hold on writing them by hand either. Ive dealt with them a bit with grass automatically produced on the ground, and raindrops on the ground, but nothing like this. We will be making, essentially, a correctly measured base for the map, then split the base up, and give the entire split base map it to each person. Each one makes the section within some dividers marking their section to map, and then when were done, the surrounding architecture of the base is removed, and the maps resaved, then, each section is combined into the one big map, being imported into the base structure file without dividers, then textured, models placed, polished etc. That is my method, and if anyone else has a method to dealing with proportion and scale issues between people, tell me and we might be able to use it. It should work if ppl dont move the brushes they made at ALL, so it has the same world space as the section in the base when the base is deleted, so when its imported into the nondivided base map, itll be in the right place. Get it? It works out if you think about it. Im going to make some recordings of gameplay through the area when i get a tv/capture card, which should be soon.

As people commonly think, yes. Depending if you start with maleShep or femShep, theres a different set of romance options for the Paramour acheivement. And I should tell you, theres no heterosexual or homosexual relationship between Shepard and that alien, because the Asari are monogendered, the Asari dont have male and female, it means nothing to them, and sex isnt how they reproduce. Anyway, enough of the Asari physiology lesson, more of actual helpin on this project, if anyone is willing. Id like this to NOT drag across years if possible :P It shouldnt take nearly that long anyway however. And by the way, Im making Garrus Vakarian as a playermodel at the moment, he should be done...well, I dont know, I have midterms coming up soon, so itll probably have to be after. I may also be making Urdnot Wrex as well. If you dont know who those are, heres two pictures. Wrex http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/5789/masseffect2007062700520sk2.jpg

long story short its link spiritualy not sexualy, the presidium is a nice place but jka wont do it justice imo it will be 50% skybox because you cant create the curves, the water would look terrible aswell. some of the character models would do well in jka but not the citadal IMO, GL anyway

Who says you cant create the curves? Ive done much bigger curves on buildings before sucessfully... Eh, well, I can make the water look nice...if someone could explain how to selectively light some parts, aka, have a "cubemap" for the water that dictates the white (from the lighting) areas, but follows the secondary texture of the water, the complex ripple one, so it looks more realistic. Dont doubt peoples skills, or my skills...until I tell you to doubt mine. THEN, you know I failed. XD I could use models for a lot of the simple curves, however. That would make my life SO much easier, as I could texture it exactly how its tex'ed in the game. Also wouldnt have to make collision geometry for the ones up high, just put a clip barrier up there. Ill also probably be blocking off jumping into the water as well. To correct the first sentence, he means its a spiritual link, not a sexual union. Essentially, I think we are to believe that the reproduction is done asexually. The mind joining passes on racial traits and such to the Asari mothers' daughter.

eh, I think theres two things in ME that you cant possibly do in JKA. The extreme detail in the charachter models, because jka doesnt support displacement or normal maps. And the lighting for the enviroments. Otherwise, and Ive checked, everything else can be faked/done with pretty good looking results. And I was joking about the skills thing btw. Guess I didnt really make that clear at all. Ah well... :P

Just a suggestion on getting the independant maps to match up visually, scale etc...

I have shared map work with people before and found the best way to do it was to make a couple of prefabs we all agreed on doors, windows etc then decide whats best out of them so that gives you your scaling up if you will.

Then in each area thats mapped leave a space for someone elses work so as when it in it kinda blends the other work in if you know what I mean, I know what I mean but thats getting complacent... now I dont know what I mean you know?

I need a cuppa.
