I've just gotten a way to get Radiant to work that requires my old computer in the upstairs living room without a good mouse and an unfamiliar keyboard with slow compile time due to an outdated 4500 GeForce video card and still has yet to get JKA installed... Now I'm just bored with it... If I create a map and release it, it's bound to be horrible, but it might help get me back in the mood to do it...

So, does anyone care if I make a horrible map?

EDIT: Also, it might even liven up the site, if hardly at all...

It's the CPU, not the GPU that determines compile time, FYI. ;)

I would love to see your shot at mapping, so that we can help you to become one of the greater mappers.

I have made tons of rubbish mods. I started releasing them, but them decided to stop after seeing stuff like Midgar V3 lol In my "Walk on Walls" thread, I made my own version of Memory's Skyscraper with BaseJKA textures. It won't get released because it is badly made with the wrong textures. As long as your map looks like effort went into it, you shouldn't get shot down in flames. And if it's your first for awhile, you'll get nice comments anyway (we hope). Good luck whatever happens!

Make a gameplay-based map and worry about visuals later.

I'd like to see what kind of map you're able to create. :) I'd also like to get into mapping myself. But, I can't get radiant to work. And even if I did I can't find any good tutorials. : /

Lawl, Juggernut, haven't been visiting the actual JKFiles, have you? =_,O I've already dwelled upon such modding as mapping and released two of my better-made maps. XP

You know, thinking back to my old maps... I kind of miss the original Moo Moo House... XP

I've already got an idea together though, and I just got done a couple of textures I plan on using and their shaders. Well, it's going to be darn well original, that's for sure. =D Maybe not crap after all. But the mouse thing is going to be Hell because it doesn't have a wheel and I can't seem to find a zoom tool for the grid area. XP Maybe if I dig around for that old mouse, too...

Delete and Home I believe are the zoom tools... Delete I know for sure.

Found this out while mapping recently because I just remapped my keyboard, and made Caps Lock the Delete key (instead of using Fn + Backspace on my laptop).

Where the hell is the edit button... anyway, you can also hold Shift and then drag around with right click in the orthographic view to zoom. Its a bit fast though I find, hard to aim. Course, get close and then use Delete + whatever to get more accurate.

1.5, btw, that I found all these shortcuts in. Dunno what 1.4 has.
