I am trying to modify the weapon melee in having the features that are granted when you type in a cheat called iknowkungfu. the regular weapon melee all you do is punch and thats about it. in the cheat iknowkungfu melee you can punch, kick, and grapple. can anyone please tell me how i can get these features into the regular melee without having to type in iknowkungfu in order to get these features.
None that I know of. You could bind that cheat to a key instead of having to type it in manually all of the time; I have heard that g_debugmelee 1 does all of that too; could bind that as well. I saw a tutorial over at LucasForums that Razor did where you went into the actual c and h files and edited those, but instead of adding to the melee, it replaced the punch with the kick, and I presume you want to be able to do both, so that's out. If anyone knows of something I don't, speak up, please.
What I actually did, was allow the player to kick regardless of the weapon. Mind you, it's a multi-player modification only.
For single-player, I think '/iknowkungfu' is the only way. For multi-player, it depends on the mod, but usually '/g_debugmelee 1-2' will take care of that.
Thank you both for answering this thread in quick haste, so you mean there is no way to have the regular melee do all the moves or features that the iknowkungfu cheat melee does ? I didn't make it!
You open the console and type:
bind "Whatever key you want to bind it to" iknowkungfu
Eg. Bind k iknowkungfu
Then when you press that key (eg. k) you will get the full version of melee.
EDIT: You only ever have to type that command once, it will save it for the next time you play.
Open the console and type in /bind [key] [command]
For example: "/bind ctrl devmap mp/ffa5" would make the game start mp/ffa5 in cheat mode every time someone presses control.

thank you for the solution, it worked. now every time i press k my character has the full melee version. thank you so much. by the way are you sure that the regular melee version cannot have the moves that are granted by the iknowkungfu melee version ?
Yeah, unfortunately, that's the only way to get all the melee moves. If you just got fists, all you could do is just punch. With the iknowkungfu code, you get the punching, the special moves, and the kick thing.
wait hold on, in a melee mod i downloaded in jk3 files i was able to do all the maneuvers granted through iknowkungfu. how was that possible ?
