I was wondering if it would be possible for someone to recreate (or at least create something similar to) the mine monster from the Artus Mine levels of JO? I need it as an NPC, to make a small of mod of mine work in JA.

You could probably port it right over. I believe LA gave the OK on that.

Yeah, LEC don't mind you moving stuff over if it's to fix the defective parts Raven left in JA, such as the broken NPC and AI scripts for certain entities.

Although I think fixing defects is all they do allow without first getting in touch with them for permissions.


I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

They've officially OKed things like map ports and texture ports in an e-mail we (JKFiles) sent them. Sound porting is still off-limits, though.

I can easily get around that, there are plenty of melee sounds in JA to use as the bite noises.

And you might be able to find the sounds in the JKA assets anyways. :p

I looked, but no. HOWEVER since te npc in JA tells it to use the sound set which isn't there, woud that fall under the "repairing" catagory?...

I've got a trange problem here, I wanted a large version, so I changed the scale and the height/width, but when I change the name, it spawns with a blaster through its head, despite the weapon WP_NONE line.

I think the reason the npc file for it has WP_MELEE is because the "punch" will actually be the biting action that it has, like how the Rancor does what it does, the Wampa does what it does, etc. Just change it back to WP_MELEE and it should work fine. As regards to sounds for the thing, look in the assets on your Jedi Outcast disc under sounds/chars. There should be a folder for the minemonster in there.
