Yes, I do know they work. However, the few tutorials I've found on making mirrors say the same thing pretty much: * Create a brush * Texture the side that's supposed to be the mirror with system/mirror_yavin * Place a misc_portal_surface so it touches the mirror * Add some lights, compile etc. Sadly, this does not work at all for me. I swear to God I've tried multiple different approaches, but the texture is just transparent, it's not a mirror. Epic fail. So, can anyone give me a few tips or something to get a working mirror? It's been annoying me for ages.

System/mirror_yavin There are a few different mirrors in the System folder, but none of them work.

I don't know really, I just followed the tutorials I found. It said to just slap on the mirror_yavin you can find the System folder.

well you are going to need shaders for it to work and a image for them to use to reflect off of , I'm not sure what is aval out there for you to learn from but in order for them to work for you you must have shaders, sorry if I can't tell you more but look in a custom map and the shaders folder to get an idea from it ok!

Okay, so I've looked around, but I still don't get it. I completely copied a mirror from another map but it doesn't work. Anyone who knows what they're talking about, please help.

textures/mirror/mirror { qer_editorimage textures/mirror/mirror portal q3map_nolightmap { map textures/mirror/mirror blendFunc GL_ONE GL_ONE_MINUS_SRC_ALPHA depthWrite } }Copy this into notepad and save it as "mirror.shader"

Then place the two images attached below into a .pk3 (filepath: textures/mirror)

Edit: The second image hasn't shown up. It was a 64 x 64 pixels, black textured .png. You can probably create it yourself if you have trouble saving the upload.

Hope this helps...
