Is anyone working on a massive mulitplayer mod for JK3? I think that the game could be made into something like starwars galaxies.. Thoughts?

the game cant handle too big maps.. and it isnt massive when its only 32 people at a server (at most) that means.. - not possible. oh.. wait.. sith-j-cull is working on something called "JA Galaxies". check it out at his forum ;)

i've been wondering about this too and this was my conclusion:

well in full terms it isn't possible, because MMORPG is an entirely different game type than the FFA JA, BUT some mods have already featured useful NPC s and fairly large maps with missions. Additionally many mods like JA+ have invented new animations and communications emotes that we use in JA nowadays to signal one another.

Therefore the basics are there. Massively Multi-Player Online Role Playing Game? surely not. an action based Multi-Player Online Role-Playing Game (MORPG) on the other hand is quite achievable with these standards. It'd be a hell-of-a Total Conversion however, if there was interest shown. Maybe a poll about such a mod could be put up here just to test the public's interest... (just an idea *shrugs*)

To answer your question, Yes, SJC and his team are making a mod that will be similar to SWG and is calling it Jedi Academy Galaxies. As for the real SWG, you have to have a top of the line graphics card to run the stupid thing with more than 15 FPS.
