I have been making my gun models as most of you know. I am still learning and sometimes make some rookie mistakes. But through trial and error it is coming together slowly. Eventually I want these weapons and effects to culminate into a complete mod I wanna call "Tactical Operations Mod" I want the mod to be a total conversion, well mostly conversion if you get my drift. I am currently helping SMoKe and Sciz in the MUTC but when thats over O wanted to turn JKA into a class based , combat mod with use of aircraft, boats, light vehicles and foot soldiers. Coop-Maps will be esential.

I need to good player modeler to model some soldier groups, allied, terrorists, gang bangers and civilians.

I am working on 1 battlefield map, but if anyone know of any maps that may work please post them.

For the weapons I have already completed I setup out server @ 72.5.249.83 with the name of "...................JU" near the top of the server list in game. For those of you who wish to see what the weapons are like with faster projectiles.

the mod is perfect for me, ive been looking for something like this for ages.. im realy into modern weapons for JKA and i hope this turns out well! good luck! :bows::p

Again, I'd recommend getting the iD Tech 3 engine source code from iD Software's FTP and using that.

I make this recommendation since your project sounds like an entirely different game to JKA MP, and unless you want your game to pretty much be JKA MP only looking different, you'll need a more versatile platform. And believe me, I make this recommendation with the best of intentions, as I'm a real sucker for tactical FPS games.


I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

I love freeware/opensource FPS games, as you know.

If you can get a coder, I'll help with the mapping. Though it sounds like the kind of thing that would require scripting (Look at Enemy Territory...:rolleyes:), I'm sure I can learn it.

Well I kinda wanted to pit expert Jedi verses Expert Gunners. I setup our server for that purpose since we have the last version of the clan mod running with the projectile speeds all sped up and damages more realistic. We had a great game last night. But I havent really been advertising our server so its hit and miss as far as getting a good group online. But it works great for testing my weapons as I make them. But I wish we had a good battlefield map. I got some bots running all the time and with weapons projectiles moving faster they are more dangerous than before. Stop by and check us out...72.5.249.83

Yeah. It's great fun with the projectile speeds sped up. One thing, though-- the repeater alt fire it now effectively a rocket launcher. There's no arc. Makes it a little too powerful. Another thing: I wish there were more bots! Me + only two bots = a lot of running around searching for something to kill. I would suggest Naboo Hills 2.1 (Naboo Hills 2.1, Jedi Knight 3 Downloads, Jedi Knight 3 Multiple Gamemodes). It's a good battlefield map, but there's no bot support, which is a real shame. I hope to see people online on the JU server.

You could always add bot support to maps without Bot support. Then again, I have more fun fighting NPCs over Bots.

I agree on the repeater, but it seems the mod author has stopped working on him mod for now, I asked about that very issue since it really kills the idea of lobbing a 203 grenade over a wall now. But he said that he couldn't seperate the 2 without making the mod so it is no longer server side. I dont know enough about coding yet to understand why, since I see the values clearly in the sdk, maybe the part of the sdk that needs editing applies client side and would require a plugin. But at any rate I am just happier to have the weapons improved as much as they are.

Though since I have been around guns all of my life and my whole family being Army AB I would like it if I could I would do the following changes to keep things interesting.

Since the rocket speeds and damages can be and have been on our server increased, I would like to be able to decrease the rof (rate of fire) as well as how many rockets can be carried so that these devastating rockets can be fired only once every 10-15 seconds to avoid rocket spammers but at the same time have the rockets for what they are for taking down ships and clearing out entrenched machine gunner positions, ect ect. Also the m203 grenade should be only be able to be fire once every 7-10 seconds and not be able to be reloaded while running as with rocket launcher.

But we shall wee what even comes of this. It would require a mod team of heavy hitters so to speak.
