I'm attempting to make seifer, and i'm on the head at the moment. I've made a skull, with no hair or anything, sort of like
that, as in the rounded bit at the top - it's bald.
I want to make it like this -
Since i'm new to moddeling i really don't know where to start, any uh, advice from moddelers on how i can do this hair? It looks really jagged in places and i have no clue what i should do.
Not so innocent?

That's a JA model? That thing has a freaking huge poly count.
Bah, i was worried it might come across like that. No i don't know what that is, i just used that as a referance for the general shape of a skull as i've never done a head before, and i mean mine si similar in the way that it is just a baled round head, with a much lower poly count.
Why? Cause normal is boring.

Model the outer shape of the hair and use alpha mapped planes for the jaggy parts.
Oh, k. I don't have anyone around me who offers a good view of a general head shape, so i used that image to base my head off of, so i knew what it should look like. I couldn't of made that, not good enough : /
??? When i look at this thread my post has gone way up to the top? rofl?
Precisely. Remember that, regardless of whether it is next gen or obsolete(like JKA), ALWAYS goe for Form first, seeking a nice sillhouette in all three perspectives(front, side and 3/4). So model the hair, imagine it without the spikey parts, then add simple planes with transparencies so that only a single(or however many hairs you need spiking out) hair shows up :) Good luck and keep us updated...
Even that head looks like it goes over the max Poly limit in JA!
I'm too cool to Post
