I'm requesting a model? FTW? Well, I was looking over some weapon models a while back and I saw a reskin of a sword which looked like the samurai sword from Shadow the Hedgehog. I love that sword, and personally I would love a Shadow model to go with it. (Not to mention he'd look badass with that pistol model I got the other day. :) ) I'd love to do it myself, but right now I struggle modelling droids and golems, and my previous attempts at Sonic characters have failed miserably. No doubt a Shadow model would be popular, since it'd be something unique in the community. I'm actually surprised no one else has requested anything like this already. If anyone decides to take a shot at it, I have a ton of reference pics, and I can probably get more too. I've taken ref pics from mostly CGI and gameplay, since the cartoon style sucks. Reference: shadowrefpicscollage7jb.th.jpg And besides, Shadow has seriously been one of the coolest characters of the 2001-2005 gaming era, ever since Sonic Adventure 2 was first released. Muchas gracias to anyone who even considers this project. :)

I really don't think Shadow's proportions would fit with the JA skeleton. His torso is much too short and his legs too long - it would seriously screw up the animations, I'm afraid.

Then again I'm not expert modeller, so maybe one of them knows something I don't.

Ah well, never hurt to ask. I shoulda figured that one, with humans and hedgehogs being very different, but like you said, maybe someone knows something we don't.

Of course! Just redo the entire skeleton and all 1500+ frames of animation! It'll be time consuming and annoying as hell. Or you could always just play with Shadow's propertions until it fits. The only problem there is it'd probably look rather funky.

After playing the game (ShTH) for 30 minutes, Shadow does actually look quite human in actual gameplay. Apart from being short and having quills. Fitting him to more human proportions wouldn't make him look all that bad now that I think about it, it'd just require some redesigning of the character concept. His legs are way too long though in the CGI pics, he could use a taller torso.

IfritZeroJust redo the entire skeleton and all 1500+ frames of animation!

If I could, then I sure as hell would! (Shadow fanatic, I am... :p )

It's not exactly 1500+. Well, technically it is. But to be accurate, the GLA is exactly 21376 frames. This is one reason people just don't reanimate entire models.

Judging by your large knowledge of this game's inner working, and all those sounds you have for MSG plus thing... I think you get bored quite a bit Iny!

As for the Shadow model, I can't do it. But I think that a giant hedgehog holding a lightsaber would look extremely weird.... Lucas didn't put certain things in the Star Wars Universe for a reason.... they just don't fit! Like giant saber weilding hedgehogs. But if you get someone to make this, good job! One of the few model requests that actually get accepted and completed!

For those animations you said you'd do, get Dragon. A link should be in the tutorials sticky. Then all you'd need is someone to make you a skeleton.

Dragon won't work for that many animations. It's just not designed for something that would take that long - it's not really functional enough.

I was going to just post "ah, I see", but that would've been a wasted post! So I added the preceding to accompany: Ah, I see. SoftImage could do it, right?

I think you need the full, 10,000 dollar version for that though.
