Hey all, I remember seeing a thread a while ago for something similar but I can't find it anymore. Basically, I'm looking to find out how to put heads on different bodies and compile the models and skeletons correctly (i.e. put kyle's head on an imperial officer's body). I've found the proper tools, but now I just need some instruction as to how I would go about doing it? Or if you could direct me to a page that has that info I would greatly appreciate that as well.

Thank you in advance :)

As unhelpful as this post will be , that's called a Frankenstein model and is generally frowned upon by the community.

Keep in mind this is for personal use, I don't really make public mods anymore.

It depends what you frankenstein i suppose, i'm pretty sure "mixing" models from the game no one cares, but using popular custom characters from modelers, i can see how it would upset some people.

Anyway, i have the videos from Paul Greveson that used to be linked on Psyk0's site, i'll upload them if you want. It made a lot more sense for me after watching.

I'd be very interested in that most likely, I should really start trying harder to learn how to model characters and rig :P

I thought someone was working on a mod that could swap in body parts from different Base JA models... It was kinda like franking but without Frank. No effort needed (except by the guy who made the mod)

Redsaurus did. I don't think he ever got around to releasing it, but we have at-least most of the code he used. He's been busy with school, still pops by occasionally.

For those interested, here's the skinning video tutorial, keep in mind this will only teach you how weighting works, there's more steps involved for JA or JO.
