hey, I have a custom skin right now. There are some things I wanted to take off the model though which I did, but I have no real experience with 3dsmax aside from the delete key heh. Anyway, I was curious as if anyone could take my .max file and finish it up for me as I am totally lost. All the tutorials I found have been slightly different on the steps with .xsi file types. I wan't to get ride of the model outline I can see when I engage in a duel. I tried getting permission from the person that had the model from the skin I had editted but he either doesn't use that email anymore or simply never got it. If anyone could help me out by finishing the exporting, compiling of the model I would greatly appreciate it (and maybe weighting and uvmapping, not sure). So I would love either links to good accurate tutorials or someone just to finish it up for me. Thanks, Delerium

There are links to tutorials in the stickied tutorial thread. Did you miss the bright red letters that said T-U-T-O-R-I-A-L-S? Also, you said "custom skin" yet jumped right into models. Which is it, a skin or a model?

I had looked at the tutorials for modelling, didn't see one that had to do with player model compiling, only the construction. I edited a skin. When I engage in a duel yo can see parts of the model that aren't textured because I don't want them to be...I want to fix it which is why I'm making a v2 for my skin and deleting off parts of the model I don't want...I was simply trying to say exactly what I was doing it for.

"kylek"But Most Of All, Explain WHY:

..so I'm editing a model to fix my skin.

These aren't like parts you could turn off in the .skin file, are they? That'd make your life a lot easier... There are tutorials in that list that go into weighting. Try Psyk0's.
