Okay, I placed the meshes around the skeleton (bones weighted and tagged), I linked them into hierarchy and I weighted all of them to proper bones. After struggling with the cubic scale issue I finally managed to compile the model sucessfully. But when I pick the model in the game, all meshes seem to be stuck in one form. It looks as the meshes do not "strech" when the model is in motion. In any pose other than the standard pose (the one we see during edition in 3ds max) particular meshes seem to be detached from each other, leaving transparent spaces. What could be the cause of this and how to fix it? I dig through a couple of tutorials (including Spacemonkey's) but I still cannot find a cause - I may be something missing. I would appreciate any help on this.

Try to alter the weighting a bit, so every bone affects a little more area.
