i've run into a very strange problem for the second time now, costing me hours of unwrapping- and skinnig-work: i make a hilt-model with gmax and i'm carefull to keep it under 1000 verts and import the tags; now the model has 945 verts according to gmax; i export the md3 and make the glm with md3-view; now modview and the game itself say, the model has more than 1000 verts! anyone any idea how this happens and how i can avoid it? please ...

well first of all you should even try avoiding going over 500 since the game wont draw dynamic shadows for that mesh and that kinda detail isnt even noticable on something as small as a hilt, but you could always just divide the model into 2 seperate peices and get rid of the error.

the model has three parts since i use three different environment-shaders; i have made hilts with nearly 1000 verts, they worked fine; and that's not the point either - i reduced the verts to 311, 298 and 348 by deleting two of the parts, to see witch one makes the trouble; the error occurs every time, only the number in brackets in the error-note changes ("1440" at 311 verts, "1014" at 298 verts and "1272" at 348 verts) - can't see a system there, though;
