Okay, here's the deal. I downloaded Movie Duels, but the exec stops at 17 percent all the time! If someone could do this for me, I'd be very greatful. 1) Zip up the Movie Duels Folder 2)Upload it to their FF account 3)PM me the link. I'd really appreciate that. Thanks guys!

Maybe you'd better ask the filefront staff for support. Just imagine 50 people uploading that huge file to their ff account and then PMing you, what a waste of bandwith and storage that would be. Just a thought.

Like Wector says in the comments, it's entirely normal for the installation to lock at 17% for a while. Let it run.

I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

Eh....he said that? I didn't read the comments. But, it stopped at 17% for a bit, I hit ctrl-alt-del, and it said "Not Responding."

Let it run a LONG time before hitting ctrl-alt-del, even if it says "Not Responding". Movie Duels is a very large file.

Why did he even use an installer for it anyway? It's not exactly hard to copy and paste a folder.

Probably compression ratio. zip files typically have little compression using native settings, rar files can compress like hell but then take a long time to unpack the data (which has to be done before you can copy paste it anywhere), compressed exe installers offer a good balance of compression ratio and unpack time.

Of course, you're naturally advised to run thorough scans on any and all executable files - as far as JA is concerned, that's .exe, .msi, and .dll - before allowing them to be executed by your system. Well, that rule should automatically be applied to anything you download from the net, no matter what it is or where it hails from. Never hurts to proceed with caution.

you could try getting a download manager too. That helped with a downloading error I had a little while ago.

It's not downloading it, it's running it I can't do.

Like people have been telling you, it always stalls for a while at 17%. Downloading a different copy of the same file won't change that. Just let it run for a while instead of expecting it to work through instantly.

If the Movie Duels installer is winding you up, then I hope you never have to install and patch TESIV: Oblivion. That'd drive you insane.
