ok i was wondering if its possible to get a multiplayer hilt like anakins hilt into the single player game. thx darth fisto
I have had much trouble with this too. I am not terribly experienced at this either. First, you need to find what name the game recognizes the hilt as. This may be found in the files associated with the hilt (the mod file, open up the .pk3 and look at the contents in wordpad) then, in the game, write saber single_[the name of the hilt] as an example, I have a hilt called MAW (it is a crappy hilt) and to use it, I must type saber single_maw. I hope that helped.
oh, and when I have a whole lot of hilts, I like to use the bind command to set them to the function keys. Like, bind f1 saber single_[the name of the hilt] that makes it really easy to switch between my hilts when I get tired of a hilt
i need to kno what program to use to open up the PK3 file...thats all i need to know now thx to u. if u need to download it then can u give me a link plz. thx. darth fisto
First of all, darth fisto, your signature is too large. It can be a maximum of 800 pixels (width) by 160 pixel (height). Please fix this accordingly. I suggest using Pakscape to open PK3s. You can find it at JK3Files.com -- put Pakscape in the JK3 search. Secondly, for adding sabers to SP... here's a short tutorial. If anything's confusing let me know. This tutorial will make them selectable from the saber menu in SP.
i did everything the tutorial said to do and all it does when i open up the game and try it out and all i get is this (click on link) http://photobucket.com/albums/y225/krazzed20500/?action=view¤t=customsaber.bmp if the link dosent work copy and paste
Well I'm not quite sure what you're showing me there, other than the name not showing up...
well thats not the custom saber cuz thats the firebrand saber. im tryin to get anakin saber. and thats what i get. and do i need to have any of all of the custom saber (the anakin saber) into the file that makes the saber into a SP hilt?
Huh? Really the only thing you need to do is add the strings to the saber.menu and it should show up. MENU.str is just so the name shows up -- you actually don't need that at all. Make sure you added your saber to both of the single-saber menu areas. If you just add it to the second it will only show up in the second menu for dual sabers. Here's what mine looks like with 10 sabers added:
