I looked around the forums and figured this was the best place to put this, but I'm not sure so, moderators, if you'll please, let me know if it's in the right spot. I'm sure you've all seen threads like this before, but I'm putting together a game team to obviously, create a game. Now, as to what KIND of game it is, we've decided it will be an alternate galaxy which we will create from scratch. The positions below are what I am looking for, and I hope you guys will take me seriously, as I already have a few good writers on the team. Scenerist/Writers for storyline - Only taking 2 requests. Samples of writing required for acceptance. Modders - Requires extensive knowledge of gaming engines and the requirements for whichever genre we choose. We will most likely be using the Unreal Engine. Skinners - Samples of work required. Modellers - Samples of work required. Must demonstrate extensive knowledge of any or all modelling programs. Concept Artists - Samples of work required. Coders - I'm not sure if this also falls under modding, but just to be on the safe side, I've included it. A sample program should be submitted but is not required. Knowledge of Lua, C#, C++, C, or AJAX is acceptable. If you're interested, send me an E-mail at hudaw@live.com Inform me on which position you'll wish to take. I will be attempting to get us some forums, and some server space. Those of you that are good with PHP, HTML, and/or CSS may also apply to help run the forums/website. Thank you for your time.

Well all the modders/mappers/skinners/ everything-else are here. So, why not? Besides, don't think a lot of people were lookkin' at mah other topic. Just the ones who CAN'T mod.

Well, you never know. It's a different story, and maybe somebody'll be interested. I'll leave it here just in case.

This is a JK3 modding forum, not a "create a random game" forum. For a more appropriate venue try General Gaming if you haven't already posted a copy there.

Hudaw, my friend, let me introduce you to the JA community, as it is these days.

Now, the JA community has three kinds of people. We have the modders (who know how to make stuff), the folken (who don't know how to make stuff, but want stuff made) and the others (who don't know how to make stuff, but oh, do they want to). It's all sort of like a family. The folken are the kids who want a new playground, the others are the brothers and sisters who really want to make it, but don't have the skills and the modders are the dad, the guy who might eventually cave and build that damn swing.

Next, we have the different kinds of mods. The reskins are easy, any idiot could pull one off. New models are a tougher bunch. Maps, even more so. But total conversions are a mix of the latter two, plus a dozen other things. A TC is a bit like building a new game on top of an old one. You need people with skills and dedication and a leader who knows how to motivate people without having to crack the cat o' nine tails on their backs.

There have been well over 50 TCs that got started in some form or another and soon fell apart. Be it the fault of the modders, the leaders or simply getting disillusioned, it matters not. What matters is that very few total conversions make it even to a beta and when they do, it's something to celebrate.

Now, as you might gather, TCs are a toughie. But you want to go one step further, you want to make a brand new game. You really think you could succeed, with this bunch at your back? Sorry, matey-bro, but you probably won't be finding your team here. I suggest you look for amateur game development forums, you're more likely to find your team there. And don't limit yourself to modders only, digital artists can make some awesome textures.

Thread closed. Same guy has already created a thread on the same topic in General Gaming forum.

http://forums.filefront.com/general-gaming/416418-recruiting-game-team.html

If anyone is interested in helping him, use that thread, please. Thank you. :don:
