What I want is to have dual sabers with the dual style (obviously) and instead of fast as the alternate style I want Tavion's. I like the way the style looks and it seems particularly fitted to this situation. I never liked how when you turned off the saber in your left hand, you then grabbed the right one with the inactive saber still in your hand. It just looked strange. I wasn't really sure how to approach this, but what I did was just mess with the .sab file of the hilt I was using in my right hand. I first tried using the saberStyleLearned/saberStyleForbidden commands to enable the Tavion style and forbid the fast style but it only worked when I used the saber alone. I also tried the singleBladeStyle command and got the same results. So I want to know if it's possible to do what I'm asking and where do I need to look. While I'm asking about saberstyles, I was also curious if there's a way to just switch what animations are use for stances. Is there anywhere you can do something like this? IE: SS_Fast blah/blah/blah/ss_fast.anim SS_Tavion blah/blah/blah/ss_tavion.anim Switch! SS_Fast blah/blah/blah/ss_tavion.anim SS_Tavion blah/blah/blah/ss_fast.anim Thanks for any help you can offer.

Here's a sample .sab file to show you how to change the single-blade stance for a staff: spiritlance { name "Kimahri's Spiritlance" saberType SABER_STAFF saberModel "models/weapons2/spiritlance/saber_spiritlance.glm" soundOn "sound/weapons/spiritlance/draw1.mp3" soundLoop none soundOff "sound/weapons/spiritlance/sheath.mp3" saberLength 44 saberRadius 2 numBlades 2 saberStyle staff singleBladeStyle strong singleBladeThrowable 1 twoHanded 1 maxChain 3 disarmable 1 notInMP 0 noDlight 1 noBlade 1 noIdleEffect 1 onInWater 1 noWallMarks 1 trailStyle 1 noManualDeactivate 1 bounceOnWalls 1 g2MarksShader "gfx/damage/bloodcutmark" g2WeaponMarkShader "gfx/effects/bloodsplat" hitPersonEffect "sword/damage_person.efx" spinsound "sound/weapons/spiritlance/spin.mp3" swingSound1 "sound/weapons/spiritlance/swing1.mp3" swingSound2 "sound/weapons/spiritlance/swing2.mp3" swingSound3 "sound/weapons/spiritlance/swing3.mp3" fallSound1 "sound/weapons/spiritlance/fall1.mp3" fallSound2 "sound/weapons/spiritlance/fall2.mp3" fallSound3 "sound/weapons/spiritlance/fall3.mp3" hitSound1 "sound/weapons/spiritlance/slash1.mp3" hitSound2 "sound/weapons/spiritlance/slash2.mp3" hitSound3 "sound/weapons/spiritlance/slash3.mp3" blockSound1 "sound/weapons/spiritlance/block1.mp3" blockSound2 "sound/weapons/spiritlance/block2.mp3" blockSound3 "sound/weapons/spiritlance/block3.mp3" bounceSound1 "sound/weapons/spiritlance/bounce1.mp3" bounceSound2 "sound/weapons/spiritlance/bounce2.mp3" bounceSound3 "sound/weapons/spiritlance/bounce3.mp3"

}You would just put "tavion" instead of "strong." As for your second question, that involves editing animations.cfg. It's actually rather simple -- you just need to know which frames you want to replace the original anims with. Take a look at the cfg -- it's rather easy to understand without much tutorializing.

singleBladeStyle That doesn't seem to work for dual sabers though. I tried it with the right hand saber, left hand one, and both, but when you turn one off you have the regular fast stance. Any other ideas on that? Thanks for the info on the cfg file, I never noticed those before when browsing the assets. Upon looking at it though. :uhoh: If I decide to try anything I'll definitely have to track down a reference so I know what I'm looking at better.
