hello :cya: im looking for someone to make me a shader that gos with this description: (1)flashs from color to color (2)"glows" by itsself (3)has the colors blue,red,green and purple (3)shader name should be rocketride and all paths for the textures must be textures/rocketride/***** (*=what you call it) i have made a gif that will give you a more "seeable" description. disco.GIF<---here (should look just like this) this will be for my new map called RocketRide (part of my 7 song medly maps) if you do make this ill give you more then a "Thank You" ill defedently credit you in the readme and if you want ill let you beta-test the map one more thing ill need 4 different shaders one starting with blue and then red (and so on) thx vary muhc :)

Test this one out. Add surfaceparms and such if you want. This is just a bare skeleton.

textures/rocketride/rocketride { qer_editorimage textures/rocketride/blue q3map_nolightmap { animMap 1 textures/rocketride/blue textures/rocketride/red textures/rocketride/green textures/rocketride/purple glow } }

Tweak the animmap frequency how ever you want (the number "1" in the example).

Frequency: The number of times that the animation cycle will repeat within a one second time period. The larger the value, the more repeats within a second. Animations that should last for more than a second need to be expressed as decimal values. (-q3map2 shader manual)

umm well to my knowledge yes, but when Lassev gave me the info i needed to make my own colors(could haved used the stock ones) and had then set up as a gif like setup so for the skin you would need to make every "frame" by your self. Example: if you made a reborn model and you wanted to make letters on his back say (frame1) I (frame2) <3 (frame3) you (frame4) much (frame5) right there you would need a skin (just picture) with an "I" on the back and another with an <3....and so on. the shader would look like this players/models/myrebornskin/skindefault.jpg {qer_editorimage players/models/myrebornskin/skinwithI.jpg q3map_nolightmap { animMap 1 players/models/myrebornskin/skinwithI.jpg players/models/myrebornskin/skinwithlove.jpg players/models/myrebornskin/skinwithyou.jpg players/models/myrebornskin/skinwithmuch.jpg } } im shure Lassev could make it look EZ'er :rolleyes:

NOTE: that is just for the defualt skin you would need to repeat the process with the bule and red team skins (if you want team support)

The original situation was concerning only simple flat colored material (or so I interpreted it). With more complex textures possibly having a static base and some limited areas changing, it could be more efficient to use two shader stages instead, only animating the changing one.

That would be, actually, the normal case. This one, using four different flat colors and nothing but single stage is probably quite a special case for a very specific purpose in a map.

Lassev, I have no resion in my mind that you are more skill then me in the shader/scriping field :bows: .
