I my world spawn I have the command

key: music value: music\eSmusic

The music works fine in jk2, but when I load the map for jka, I get some error about the music not working. Anyone know if those keys and value are same in jk2 and jka? Other than that my map seems to be working for jka.

Only other thing I had to do is add a distancecull of 131,048 grid units because my skyportal is pretty big.

First, try changing the \ to a /. Also, take a look at the console - are there any warnings/errors when loading the map?

Try write extension too. And what do you mean under "I get some error about the music not working"? Where, and exactly what messages?

K I got the error messages

So the key: music error is 1) Says:

Unable to find music "music\eSmusic" as explicit track or dynamic music entry

Also there is key: sound error I have to that is less important to me that works in jk2 but when i put map in my jka folder it fails.

2) Says

MP3ERR: Sound file is stereo! (sound\survive.mp3)

ps.- I tried music\eSmusic and music\eSmusic.mp3. Both work for jk2, and both fail for jka

actually he has it right, its \ not /, / is used for websites, while \ is used in file directories :)

eg from latest map: value: music key: music/ge_bunker/bunker.mp3 this is for a custom song to play tho mind you, to use a default you still need to have music/(usually map)/(song name).mp3 or .wav, so in my PK3 file, I have a folder named music, within it another folder called ge_bunker, and within that folder a mp3 filed named bunker.mp3, cause thats what I wrote in the spawn, also do not use variable bitrate music, JA wont see it sometimes if it flux's past a certain limit. 128kbps is best sounding, 96kbps is ok too

Well, no :D In JKA, and in CoD too (And I'm sure in many other games) we usually use '/' instead of '\'.

Btw Omegasigma is correct: Music must be with "music/ge_bunker/bunker.mp3" format (So use every container folder + mp3 tag).

No such limitation exists.

Also I tried some variations in the value part of the command

1) I changed \ to / 2) I added an extra folder so it's now music/expedition/eSmusic.mp3 (it was music\eSmusic) 3) I added a .mp3 to the end when I had no extension previously.

Result: None of these changes made it work in jka, and none of these changes affected anything on the jk2 side of things as the music works there no matter what I do with that command (worked before changes and after)

Ghosh Lorz Geptun;5600453actually he has it right, its \ not /, / is used for websites, while \ is used in file directories :)
\ is used in Windows, / is used in pretty much all other operating systems. / also works on Windows while \ won't work on most other operating systems. My suggestion: Use /. And get capitalization right.
Btw Omegasigma is correct: Music must be with "music/ge_bunker/bunker.mp3" format (So use every container folder + mp3 tag).

I'm pretty sure I've successfully used "music/mp/duel" without any extension before.
