Ok, here's my problem: I need to make each weapons use it's own gfx files rather than using shared ones. (Exapmple: the pistol has flash effects used by the disruptor, shotgun and rocket launcher) I copied the files, renamed them and changed to efx files to have the new names in them, but when I load them in game, the textures do not show and are replaced the the grey missing texture squares. Can anyone help? Also, does anyone know how to change the color of the glow made by laser fire? (ie: change the glow aroung pistol blobs from yellow to blue) Oh, and I'm working on this right now, so if you're here and you have an answer, please make it quick! Thanks!
Filepaths... check em in the shader, in the EFX file... make sure the image is in the right directory of the filepaths. Make sure the shader exists, make sure the image exists.
Could you be a little more specific? I've got (for example): gfx/effects/bluefrontflash, bluesideflash etc. and in the efx files - hold everything: that's odd, it hasn't saved the changes I made. That's probably it. What do you mean make sure the hader exists? do I have to change a file path in a shader file too? And what about the glow color?
Nope, I've changed the efx files (again) and this time the path names stayed correct, but it still didn't work.
make sure that the new efx has a different name than the stock efx. i'm not an expert of efx/gfx, really all i know how to do is reskin. I spend a LOT of filepaths so maybe thats your problem.
do you mean newname.efx or change the names inside the efx file?
change the name of that file so it is different from the stock file name. like just add a 2 on to it. next change the file path so it goes to the renamed file. maybe that will work
Done that. I've got bluesiideflash instead of bryarside flash etc if thats what you mean (in the file name and path)
