I'm not familiar with Milkshape, so I can't answer your milkshape-specific questions, but I might be able to help with #2. As far as getting a saber in-game goes, you need to make sure 1, you have your .sab files correct (I have a tendency to make typos which screw things up), and 2, you have all your tags in the right places. Now theoretically a saber should work in-game even if the tags are off, assuming you have where you want the hands to be placed at 0 0 0. You say they're not working at all? What exactly is happening? Are you getting an error? Is it just not showing up? You'll need to give some more detail on that one before I can help you any more.

Tags - generally a saber has 1 tag, called "tag_blade1". This is where the blade starts. Without tags you get what we like to refer to as the "crotchsaber". Unfortunately I don't know how tags work in milkshape, but I'm sure someone does. So you go into the console and type "saber whateveryoursaberiscalled" and nothing happens? You get an invisi-saber? That sounds like mixed up paths to me. One time I thought I had a missing saber... but it turned out I mini-sized it ;) Someone with Milkshape is bound to come around eventually. There are lots of helpful people here, you just have to pester them until they speak up. Or prod them with a stick, that works too.

Here's one of my recent ones. I just grabbed the first one I found: auron_katana { name "Auron's Katana" saberType SABER_SINGLE saberModel "models/weapons2/auron_katana/saber_auronk.glm" soundOn "sound/weapons/auron_katana/draw1.mp3" soundLoop none soundOff "sound/weapons/auron_katana/sheath.mp3" saberLength 44 saberRadius 2 throwable 1 maxChain 3 saberstyleLearned strong disarmable 1 notInMP 0 noDlight 1 noBlade 1 noIdleEffect 1 onInWater 1 noWallMarks 1 trailStyle 1 noManualDeactivate 1 bounceOnWalls 1 spinsound "sound/weapons/auron_katana/spin.mp3" swingSound1 "sound/weapons/auron_katana/swing1.mp3" swingSound2 "sound/weapons/auron_katana/swing2.mp3" swingSound3 "sound/weapons/auron_katana/swing3.mp3" fallSound1 "sound/weapons/auron_katana/fall1.mp3" fallSound2 "sound/weapons/auron_katana/fall2.mp3" fallSound3 "sound/weapons/auron_katana/fall3.mp3" hitSound1 "sound/weapons/auron_katana/slash1.mp3" hitSound2 "sound/weapons/auron_katana/slash2.mp3" hitSound3 "sound/weapons/auron_katana/slash3.mp3" blockSound1 "sound/weapons/auron_katana/block1.mp3" blockSound2 "sound/weapons/auron_katana/block2.mp3" blockSound3 "sound/weapons/auron_katana/block3.mp3" bounceSound1 "sound/weapons/auron_katana/bounce1.mp3" bounceSound2 "sound/weapons/auron_katana/bounce2.mp3" bounceSound3 "sound/weapons/auron_katana/bounce3.mp3" } And like I said, I'm not familiar with tags in Milkshape. So somebody with Milkshape help this guy out!

Use the FACE tool to connect vertex, click on each one of them (clock-wise) Everytime you click on 3 vertexes you will for a face. Or you can also get the latest milkshape version that really makes it easy for that kind of modelling. All you do is select 3 vertex and press F. Oh and I am sorry if some of that made no sense, I think I drank too much -_-
