Im thinking about making a map and Im not too sure if I want to. So before I do I want to know who all would like the map and who wouldnt. So Im going to share with whoever reads this thread what that idea is.

Ok, so In this map you have your basic, nicely made detailed FFA map. Good dueling areas and such and places to watch. Now, unseen is that there is a complete wire frame of the map hidden in the walls and floors.

Heres the fun part.

As you play on the map and people shoot and fight each other they are bound to hit the walls and floors every now and then. As you do this you would notice that the map is falling apart as you attack it. Eventually all that is left is the wire frame of the map and a bottomless pit below, dont fall now.

So basically I want to make a map that is completely destroyable besides a wire frame so there are places to stand and everything. What does everyone think??

It would get anoyying very fast, if this is for dueling/ffaing purposes, but for eyecandy effects it wouldn't be too bad.

Well, something JKA lacks is good city maps. So you could kinda kill two birds with one stone, since that idea seems kinda cool. Make large portions destroyable or whatnot, but make a nice big city for those who like to rp (Since like I said, no good city maps). With all the enterable rooms and places, it'd provide a unique experiance, if almost everything was destructable. But if you did do this, I'd either recomend making everything have a LOOOOOT of hp, so it'd take a real effort to destroy it. Or make it so you can respawn it all, otherwise it would get kinda annoying restarting the map all the time.

Just remember you have a maximum number of breakables (128 or 256 maybe?) And a maximum entity count of ~1000.

I didn't know there was a breakable limit. I know about the ENTITY limit, but not breakables.

Sadly, this won't work, but to solve the problem of it being annoying, you can make it so that after the last thing has been broken, a restart button appears in the middle. The button is a trigger_multiple targeting a target_level_change. BUT target_level_change tends to crash servers randomly. Trust me on this, please don't be like the crowd and laugh about it. It does.

So it may get old for some people, having to vote to restart all the time, but that's all up to them. it IS an interesting idea.

Yeah, its MAX_SUBMODELS (i.e maximum number of brush based entities,)

Ahh, ok. I'll keep that in mind. Just one more limit I'll have to abide by. I would think that's the one that Lugormodders and makernodders tend to go over when servers crash from too much adding...?

Well I don't know not having played either of those. I assume they spawn like static models or something though....I don't think they are submodels, but maybe you might be right.
