Hi, I really like my Jediknight game and appreciate all the work people put into creating cool new skins and weapons for the community to use. I have heard about mapping, skinning, and models but I'm pretty out of the loop. So could someone help me get started or give me some tips?:) I kind of wanted to start off working with something easy? Like turning this Spiderman http://jediknight2.filefront.com/file/SpiderMan_20;31435 into a black and silver version(symbiote) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:SpiderManhangingComparison.JPG Any help is appreciated and thanks in advance, Lobo

try the master sticky, or try Massassi Temple (their tutorials for skinning are vague and sometimes with wrong information, this is where i started before I dived into skinning with shaders)

Go to the Master Sticky and check the tutorials.

I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

I know for a fact that there are two weapon modelling tutorials dealing with melee weapons. Virtue's Hilt Modelling, and Inyri's Simple Sword Modelling. Both links work, and both are precisely what you're looking for.

I know this because I was updating that sticky an hour ago. :nodding:

Hmm, I don't know what program you're using, so I'll list advice for all of them. :p If you're using Gmax, it's practically the same thing. If you're using Milkshape 3D, get Gmax. Gmax is free. If you're using XSI Mod Tools (which is also free), then it should be similar to 3DS Max. If you're using Maya, it should be very similar to 3DS Max. If you're using anything else, then get one of the above.
