ok i am srry if this has already been asked...but... I followed the "dogs ten ez steps to making a map and it worked fine (except their was no light under the info catogory).. ban ne ways.... when it said to compile it .. it said to use "bsp_fastvis" but i did not see that anywhere so i used "(single test) -vis -fast" and i got this ERROR MESSAGE===> ************ ERROR ************ Error opening C:/Program Files/LucasArts/Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy/GameData/base/maps/test2.bsp: No such file or directory whats wrong???? and if i use any other type to compile i get these things===> "MAP LEAKED" OR ENTITY things???
Use -meta compile first!!!
Where did you save your map file, is it under the: gamedata/base/maps/test2.map? If it isn't change it there, and if it don't work, i dunno
oh and i forgot to ask...can u "de-compile" a pk3 file?? u know get the maps it contains??
Depends on what you mean by decompiling it. You can start off by changing the .pk3 to .zip file then open it up. Then you gotta get some way to change a .bsp to .map which there are programs that are out there, where i dunno but i heard of them. That should work if u wanna get the map editable in radiant, but i heard that the textures sometimes get lost. Or if you wanna just see the files, stop after changing it to ".zip". Of course, you can always change the .zip back to .pk3. But you would be best off trying to get the original .map from the author if you can. Did that make sense, i hope it did?
Yes, you can extract pk3 with winzip and de-compile bsp. But you won't have misc_models, detail brushes, lights and many more. If you want to decompile map, send it to me (whole .pk3)
ok ty i will try to talk to the author about it ..if not i will ask u Meush ty
