Hey again,

Is there anyway to convert a NPC (custom made) to a skin? If so, please tell me how so I can try it out!

Thanks,

Jebus

No. You can't convert a text file to textures and models.

Gee, here I was under the impression that you had to have a model and/or skin in a usable format before you could make an NPC out of them.

But hey, I guess I was wrong, maybe you can make NPCs using models and skins that don't exist! Wow, you learn something new every day.

Sarcasm aside, an NPC doesn't contain a model or skin. It simply inherits it's appearance from one that already exists in your models/players folder (or models/vehicles, and possibly models/weapons, if custom vehicles an weapons are used).

As Inyri said, .npc files are little more than text files, essentially a single-player version of a bot file. They do not contain the model/skin, they simply spawn it and tell it how to behave.

I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

Then that's just the NPC, not the model/skin. The model/skin is something completely different, and is not enclosed within the .npc file in any way, shape or form.

Okay, thanx for that. Cause we're talking NPC's, I add NPC's to my map but they don't show up in-game. Help?

Are you sure you set it to the actual NPC entry, rather than the title of the file?
