I can help you with the music...I think. Is it in your pk3 of your map! LOL YOU REALLY SHOULD MAKE A PK3!!! PLEASE! It is REALLY easy and will help ya with this little tut: Make a pk3. Have a folder called maps in it. Put your map in the maps folder. Have a folder called scripts. Put your .arena file in your scripts folder. Put all your textures ONLY if they're custom in a folder called textures. Put your castle shader in a folder called shaders. Make a folder called music. Put your music that you want IN your music folder. Or if it is a target speaker. (In this case it is NOT) you should make a sounds folder and put the speaker sounds in that folder. Now open up world spawn and make sure your music is mp3. Type this Key: music Value: music/yourmusic.mp3 That should work if it doesn't tell me or somebody I g2g so yeah -=Sarge=-

A .pk3 is only for putting it all in one place, and distributing it. The folders in the .pk3 are all folders in your base. Whether they are in a .pk3 or not would make no difference.

Actually PK3ing will make a difference in whether your music plays or not for some reason... but that should be about it.

And thanks XD I now feel at ease knowing why my music doesn't work.

It's definately greener.

Other than the problems I'm having, the map looks decent enough :-D So Inyri, do you want me to release the map seperately, or send it to you to include with the Melee Redux? The only concern would be filesize after adding the map. But it's up to you. And it'll be a while before I'm done.. but then as far as I know, work on the Redux is on "hold"...

The nice thing about RARs is they can compress. And I just learned that you can compress PK3s.

:rofl: Avy is greener for sure. It's also "crisper"... siggy looks slightly blurry... and brighter

Bah!

So anyway it still looks decent enough. But my "custom" textures still don't work. Any help would be hot... NO! I'm not .pk3-ing it yet!

Alright I know this was prolly answered but are you editing an existing sky shader or making a totally new one? Pics would be helpful as I'm kinda confused...

I made my own shader by editting another one (copy/paste, then adjusting). It's posted above. A lot above.

I don't mean to nag--.... well maybe I do, but anyway, the textures still aren't showing up. Let's review:

  • I have a folder named "castle" in my textures folder.
  • My sky textures are in that folder
  • I've made a shader (posted above) for my sky.
  • I get a message in-game saying something like "castle_sky has a lightmap but no lightmap stage!"
  • "castle" is listed at the top of shaderlist.txt

I've done everything that the tutorials I've looked at say to do. The textures show perfectly in Radiant, but not in-game.
