...and failing badly.

I downloaded Dragon and put animation.cfg and _humanoid.gla into the dragon folder. I put the dragon folder in my base folder.

Following advice, I did load animation and then impframe 14651 2 to get this animation: BOTH_STAND1 14651 2 0 20.

It told me a. ImportFrame 14651, Out of Range (0 - 20).

So far, all I have been able to do is change the default display to show a Kyle character instead of the blob. xD I would greatly appreciate if someone could walk me through getting the animation I want to edit/replace loaded up so I can make the changes I want.

P.s. Please do not link me to the MovieBattles 2 post, the Dragon User Manual, or Heavy Metal Gungan's Dragon > Ingame tutorial. I've read them all and 1. MovieBattles 2 post is a reincarnation of the User Manual + commands, and 2. The User Manual is really badly written and doesn't even explain how to start off with dragon (how to edit frames and stuff). Yes, I can from that info make my own, new animation from the default stance and save it, but if I want any sort of coherency with the games animations this is totally useless to me. Lastly, HMG's tutorial is for AFTER I've made my animations. XD So many topics when I was searching the forums for help (yes, I do that kinda thing) had people posting his tutorial sticky in response to 'Help me I just downloaded Dragon and I dun know what I'm doing!' topics.

put your _humanoid.gla in the main folder of dragon (where JA_humanoid.gla is), and change the .gla in the default.cfg in the avatar folder from JA_humanoid.gla, to _humanoid.gla... then u should be able to bring up allanim frames from the base .gla

Ah, see that changing in the .cfg part is the part no one writes about in the tutorials. Thanks! I'll try it and hope it works.

If you need any help with Dragon or things related to animating you may send me a message, or just keep this thread active. I too use base JA animations as a basis for my animations to keep coherancy up.

Ok, I completed an animation on Thursday night and got it ingame. :) Its a death anim, guy falls to fround clutching stomach. I need to add more to after he falls to the ground but I like it so far. :) I've also done the usual, replaced meelee stance and saber off stance. (now has chest breathing and a bit of shuffling.

Good to hear about your success! I saw in another thread you wanted to know if Dragon could animate vehicles. As far as I can tell it cannot. Seems Wudan made Dragon strictly for playermodel animations. Minilogoguy use XSI to animate his walker. He also says that XSI can animate playermodels too, though I've never tried.
