I was working over the past 12 hours or so on a Gaara model for JK3...i finnaly "finished" it around 3 am this morning....however im having a slight problem.....my uv maping isnt working..as you can see in the pic below...when i tried to texture the sash it went on his back....i didnt have any problem with the gourd...but thats not what i need help with..... i built the model in 3D Studio Max....and cant fit enough of the model into the one UV map it gives me....plus i was wondering how is it..many JK models use semperate maps for parts on the same model..and how would you do that? gaara.jpg

You'll have to separate the model into several parts. JA needs the model to have at least nine different objects: head, torso, r_arm, r_hand, l_arm, l_hand hips, r_leg and l_leg. These are the minimum needed and that's why most models have different textures for different parts of the body.

Create a 1x1 plane from where it starts wrapping around the gourd to where it connects with the body. You can later texture the parts of the cloth that wrap around the two.

One more theeng: Those gourds look awfully round, can we see a wireframe? One more theeng: One way you can separate the model into the sections is to select the polies and try to extract them into a new polymesh. Delete old ones if necessary. ONE MORE THEENG: Don't use Milkshape. Better off keeping it in max.
