I'm having a problem with snow in my single player map. It's a very large city with lots of open space between the buildings. There are many interior spaces which I've covered with inside brushes snapped to grid 16. So, when I load the map the first time after I've run the bsp the snow works fine; it isn't rendered inside the inside brushes. But every subsequent time I load the map the snow doesn't work. It's rendered throughout the entire map, even inside the inside brushes. Could anyone help me with this problem? I noticed a .weather file was created after I loaded the map so I packed that in the pk3 along with everything else. Even so I still had the problem.
Note: I haven't used any weatherzones but as I understand they are optional and their only purpose is to reduce load time by effectively reducing the number of inside brushes. Regardless, might that be the problem? I actually used weatherzones one time but I still encountered the problem which leads me to believe using weatherzones won't fix it.
As you can see I am rather perplexed and running out of options. Help is greatly appreciated.

EDIT: Should I use outside brushes instead of inside brushes? I never really knew how to determine if you have more inside than outside areas or vice versa so I don't know which brush I should use.

I use neither. I'm just using inside brushes to cover the interior parts of the map. I may have fixed the problem though, I'm about to find out. One of the inside brushes was not snapped to a 16 grid...
You should have outside brushes covering the outside. Then you should put a "FX_snow" in 1 of the outside brushes. Easy peasy.
Thank very much for the help but unfortunately that didn't work either. I think there is a limit to the size of the map in which you can spawn weather. I've used weather successfully in another one of my maps and never once encountered a problem. I did it the exact same way in the map with which I am having problems. Oh well, I will just have to live without the snow.
