Right know I am just looking for something new for jadens light saber. I was wondering if it was possible to Make a Proto-Saber Mod for Single Hilt & Duel Sabers ? (staff might not look good) Some possible Good idea's might be a Clone/StormTrooper Back Pack Or a Jedi's Utility Belt on a Robe mod. The Saber's would be "Attached" by a Cord or a Cable of some kind. And I am aware that there is a cut scene where you fling your LightSaber upward to get away from Tavion. But in such a case you could see a cord detached from you, But still dangling from your hilt. The reason I want this mod is because Jadens LightSaber has a back story but always ends up being a commen saber. What if Jaden Built something "Ancient" If this is possible can one of you guys give it a shot at making it?

Wouldn't work unless you made the rest of the shit that's attached to the player model with a new compiled character. Too much pointless work and would only work with characters you made it work with.
I didn't make it!
It's a cool and interesting idea, but I'm on the same page as Minilogoguy.
Yeah I figured Proto-Sabers are about as old school as you can get. The art work that exist's for them is awsome. But it seems impossible to make them work i guess. Thanks Though.....

well there is in a mod something very very similar .Buti wonder when you say protosaber you mean the ones that are in starcraft? the ones that use the zealots? because theres something similar and with a reskin i supose it would fit. http://jediknight3.filefront.com/file/Halo_Plasma_Sword;106435 And also for those cables you say you could make a new holsterer model for JA+ or OJP or ask for a zealot model with the holsterer made with the cables like this one or maybe i can make it as my first project e.e ill edit if i manage to make it http://jediknight3.filefront.com/file/Link_Twilight_Princess;95919
well as Star Wars history says the first sabers were Proto-Sabers.They had a Back Pack for a Power Sorce which connected to a saber hilt. Then as better technoligy became available, the power sorce was converted to a battery belt, again with a power cord. It was actually the Sith who had the idea of using a power crystal as a power source. here's a sample of a proto-saber, Belt or back pack with a cord conection
sorry fo DP'ing but a proto saber is just a corded saber attached to the body. it could be as simple as that. But two major problems are saber throw and that cut scene where you escape from tavion. Alot of Robe mods have very detailed Belts which could work, for looks. maybe the Fett Jet Pack or a Trooper Back-pack. But the biggest thing is conecting the saber to Jaden via a cord. maybe to the hip or comming out from the back.

Since the player model and weapon model are two separate things, this wouldn't work easily. Hence the earlier comment that it would only work for models that you made it work for. If you were willing to put in the extra effort (seing how this is a request and not a WIP, I think I have my answer...) then you could potentially... possibly... have a model with a hilt already (and permanently) built into the hand and then have the saber as invisible but still with the weapon tags.
I'm not sure how you would rig it to avoid it clipping through the legs of whatever model for all animations - perhaps have the invisi-saber locked onto strong and have the proton pack slightly further round the front from the right hip - and it would need to stretch and stay connected to both. The texture on the cord would stretch a lot too.
I reckon that a single player mod with an interesting/unique story, a locked-to-strong saber and block functions could make for a neat little package. It's a lot of effort and someone else might have a better way, but if polished enough, it's a nice idea.
However, not as Jaden's saber. JA = 14ABY. So he can't make an ancient saber. That's like idiots who create antique furniture daily. Why would you create something in an older, less reliable way rather than using the latest technology? I can see why it'd be awesome to have a late 60's US muscle car, but why would you want a replica Mustang that looks like the old 430 Fastback but is based on a Ford Fiesta? The original has value. The remake does not.
