I want to have lightning in my map... I already have the FX_RUNNERs set, but I have one problem... I don't know what the lightning FX is.

What is it?

Also, can you make lightning strike without triggers? (Like every three seconds)

Check assets1, it would be under volumetric or something like that. Also if you read the little info box that comes up when you hit "n" it should tell you about it automaticly firing.

and try usin key values "delay" (default 200) or "random" (random amount of time to add to delay, ( default 0, 200 = 0ms to 200ms )

*edit* yeah jus like wut bob said, usually pushing the n button will give ya some valuable infermation

I already use the following. But I just found out by playing, that all the sudden kyle (I spawned one) was jumping, and all the sudden, a heat haze went in the air and kyle died =-)

So all I have to do is find a good lightning FX.

Do I have to put in the full path or just the filename? I am trying:

lbolt.efx

Do I have to put in the path, and is that correct for the lightning?

Nope, youd want the key "fxfile" and the vaule of "effects/yourfolder/lbolt.efx" without quotes obviously. Since it seems your still looking for an effect try the env folder in effects.

Jkfiles has a map, City of the dead i believe, it has lightning strikes aorund the map at random, perhaps you could look at that for reference. or ask the author.
