the only tutorial i could find in the tutorial list for creating SP mods is for jk2. if i did the same stuff for jk3, would it still work?

I guess that would depend on what your mod is supposed to modify...

im trying to make a new storyline. something like survival mod 2.

That should be pretty basic SP mapping stuff, for the most part. I don't exactly remember all the details of Survival Mod 2, so it could have used some tricks requiring above average tinkering of the game files (like UI files).

Well, as long as you can't ask specific questions you are anyway quite far away from real problems, so you better first learn how to map, script, create shaders, include new npcs (models), and that sort of things before you dream of creating anything equal to the Survival mods.

I don't think it works for total conversion mods but things like maps and models work most of the time.
