I'm trying to find out if there is a way to have players in game start with 100hp/900 armor or 500hp/500 armor etc. Is this controlled by the map or the game? JA+ Allows you to adjust the starting armor in a duel, but I need this outside of the duel, just standard play, as soon as you join the server or respawn from a death. Is this possible?

You might be able to script it. There are set_health and set_armor types for the set command, but I've never used them myself. Though as far as I know, any time your health is higher than 100 in multiplayer, it will automatically decrease at a slow rate until it reaches 100 (though I think with some more clever scripting, you could find a way around this). I also don't think the armor gauge will show a value higher than 100, but I'm not positive on this.
Anyways, if those set commands work in an Icarus script for multiplayer, then you could say that it is the map that controls the starting health and armor. Once you make the script, you would then just make a target_scriptrunner with spawnflags 1 and count -1 and making it the target of all player spawn points on the map. If that doesn't work, then the starting stats are part of the game code and won't be as easily changed.

I think this is more of a coding issue, I doubt that scripts like this would be controlled by the actual map.
I could be wrong though.
needs to be done in the code. You also need to disable the decrease of armor (dunno about health) when it's over 100. If you really want to do that, take a look to the file g_active.c , in the client_thinkreal functions. It's probably where it's done.

Actually, there's already a cheat for pretty much infinite armor. /give armor 9999 should work :D That works for ammo too. It's cool to use those on a cheat server, so you're pretty much invincible and with infinite ammo.....
I need to figure out to code, I really want to do it badly, but I cant figure the "tutorial" out! Ace-Ventura, do you mind if I take my questions to you through PM, since you seem to know what you are doing? All I need to know is how to do the most basic source code editing, and when I figure out how to compile it, I can start looking at the code3arena tutorials.
Sorry if I sound like a beggar, and being off-topic.
sure. But don't forget that the server will need to use that mod.
What do you mean by server? If it is in my power, I will allow it or get it done.
