Does anyone know how to increase the rate of fire and acuracy of the blaster rifle for JKA? I got a super battle droid skin and I want it to seem more real.

In assets1.pk3, look in ext_data and find weapons.dat. I believe you can change it from there, and the file notes should tell you how to do it. Skateboard Freak, I don't appreciate you being a smart ass. "It's called coding" is not only rude, but it's not helpful. If you have some real content to post, go ahead.

How do you open the PK3 file though? I found assest1.pk3 but i can't get into it to find ext_data.

Either use winzip or PakScape (I think PakScape is easier - you can find it at JK3Files.com). You can open weapons.dat with notepad. However when resaving it you should save it to a new PK3. I get the impression you don't know anything about modding, though... If you want a walkthrough on PK3s you can contact me on MSN or AIM and I can explain it.

Jim, is this for SP or MP? I think the file Inyri in mentioning will work for SP, not sure though, never tried it. If this is for MP, you are looking at coding a mod. And a server would have to be running it for your changes to work, that's the tricky part. Hence forth, you'll need the JKA SDK (software development kit) for source code and you'll need a compiler. MP operates off of drivers (.dll's). But start at the bottom, learn how to PK3 things with folder paths, you'll need that.

In the good ol' days of JO, MP ran off of .VM files as the drivers and the SDK included a .bat file to compile for you. EASY. But JKA #$%^&* us with .DLL's, and you need a compiler to create the drivers, such as MS Visual, which can cost you $$$.

[EDIT] weapons.dat does have rate of fire, but accuracy is not included. I assume you are talking about the slop on altfire, which isn't there.
