I´m currently working on a fem Twi´lek Skin and wanted her to replace Alora. Theoretically it should work...but it´s not. My Skin is working fine as normal MP character when i change her name but Alora stays Alora even when i replace the files. Maybe someone ran into this problem before and can give me a little help :]

Renaming model folders will never work if you made specific references to the original foldername while creating the model, at least not in my limited experience. And besides, you don't need to do anything like that. Just make your model as a normal MP model, then copy the "Alora.npc" file out of your assets0.pk3 with the following file structure: "ext_data/npcs/Alora.npc". Then open the copy of the .npc file you made, where it specifies the model, just enter yours instead of Alora. Then pk3 the copied ext_data folder containing your edited npc file in with the model, and make sure the pk3 name starts with any letter from B-Z, load up the game and it will boot your model for Alora. :) (If you need me to simplify, just ask and I'll do a step-by-step. I just got up and talking sense isn't my strong point first thing.)

I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

Indeed, it's always better to work with the NPC files in those instances - that way you can be sure. Then it also won't overwrite MP models ;)

I remember having trouble replacing Alora once, but playing with the NPC file worked, as I recall. Might want to have someone else take a look at it - sometimes it's hard to pick our your own errors.

Usually the replacing of the files in models/players/... works. I tried to replace Rosh and it worked fine. I´ll keep on trying. Of course i take any help i can get.:)

Well Alora's strange because different maps use different variations of Alora. Did you replace both of them?

Yup. :] I even tried a combo with replaced .skin files, the multiplayermodel and the .npc file.

And you don't have any conflicting mods?
