Hi there, I just joined today. I'm known as Kouen on other message boards and games, and it was surprising when I found out that there is another user known as Kouen who works here. When I got Jedi Academy the first thing I did was search for mods and models to customize my game with. I was dissapointed to find not much of an interest in the models because I'm an anime fan, most being Reborn reskins anyways. I would like to use models of characters and weapons from Fate/stay Night to enhance my Jedi Academy experience. The anime/game contains very interesting character concepts and designs that would make a good addition to JA. There are also unique weapon designs that might catch the interest of some players. But since I have never modelled or skinned before, I would not be able to do this without some help. Here are some picture references of some characters and weapons that I would appreciate being created. Characters Archer
Kansho and Bakuya
I will appreciate whoever helps me make these models. I will provide more reference pictures if needed and other needed resources. I also hope to help as well so I can learn how to model for future uses.
Hello, and welcome to these forums.
First off, I applaud you for not making this just a "Please make this for me thanks!" post, and instead asking for guidance on how you could start modeling and possibly make the things that you would like to see.
(O_o, Me? Helping? This is blasphemy! This is Madness!)
Here is the modding tools thread: http://forums.filefront.com/sw-jk3-modding-editing/333326-jka-modding-tutorials-tools-updated-october-15th-2007-a.html

That should at least (start, maybe) on your way to making the weapons. I would start with those, if anything. Character modeling isn't exactly something you can just pick up and fly around with...I myself had issues trying to make a CubeMan. That was fun, and it still has issues. I don't really care about them, because it was a joke. A joke that taught me something. Modeling isn't exactly the easiest thing. It does take practice. Am I rambling? Sorry.
Well, since you (probably) have some plans to start character modeling once you get a feel for things, you should probably download and get used to XSI Mod Tools, which is a free tool available for download and can export models into the correct format to be used in JKA.
Again, most of what you should need is in the Tools and Tutorials thread, and you can always use this forum for some honest advice. But don't limit yourself to this forum. Should you start modeling, the LucasArts forums will probably help you as well, if only being a source for different opinions. Don't look for compliments. Get good, constructive criticism. Don't get hostile at the people giving advice.

It's 4:30AM at the time of this posting, and I'm tired. Good luck, and welcome!
Edit: I see you lurking Kouen. Roar!

 In the immortal words of Kyle Katarn: You're joking, right?
Thanks for the advice, I'll see if I can do some trial-and-error work with swordmaking before modelling. I might be able to contribute to let's say the modelling of Excalibur, Kansho, and Bakuya for the first part of the project. I have attempted to create an Excalibur prop but failed, although I did understand the basic design of the hilt, so I may be of help for that one. I'm looking forward to more advice for modelling.
Wow, and here I was beginning to think I was the only person who even knew this series existed. I would try to do these myself. but I just can't get the right tool. (Have been trying to get XSI mod tool. But no help so far.)
XSI Mod Tool: SOFTIMAGE|XSI Mod Tool - Download Post any specific questions or problems up and we (the community) can help
I know where to get it. But my connection can't take it all in one download, only about 300 MB at once. I've been hoping someone who upload them in parts or something, and that's where I haven't gotten any help.
Recently I've been crammed with projects and assignments so I don't have time to fiddle with weapon making. I'd be glad if some members help out in any of the departments of this project. Feel free to drop me some constructive criticisim because I am looking forward to learning how to model through this.
Greetings! Might I offer a bit of assistance in your creation of an Archer skin? I've found a Dante skin that could be very easily reskinned to create an Archer model.
That's the link. Use it, or do not, as you see fit.
dude ! this thread was created 3 years ago ! please dont revive old threads man ;)
