I'm hoping that there are some of you here who use JO models and know that just fixing the sounds isn't enough for Dual saber users. I love the Obi-Wan models from Jedimoves, and the Episode 3 Obi-Wan from jk3files but I am sick of the JO to JA problems. First of all, the model will only use the right hand saber in some moves. And, while I try not to ever kata when I do I'd like to do as much damage as I can. Also, (and maybe this is just me) the models don't seem to cope well with cg_dismember being set to anything but 0. What I mean by this is that if I get sabered while using one of the Obi-Wan models when I respawn I have a weird, glitchy robe. I think this is because the pk3 or the glm is setup in a way that JA doesn't fully understand. I'd be lying if I said I had any idea what this would entail, but I get the feeling it would be a huge headache. If anyone is willing to undertake this I will provide links, a whole lot of appreciation and maybe some moral support if you need it. ;P Otherwise, if any of you modelers could aim me in the right direction of how to fix this that would be helpful, but I have no artistic ability and I don't want to ruin anything. all that's dirrent is that the JA models are having about 20 bones more than the JO ones. so you'd have to re-weight it, and that is certainly not much fun. though, there actually are enough tutorials for that.

What kind of software, skill and atristic talent are we talking about? I can get the software easy, but I have about as much artistic skill as a 4 year old.

that's not a point of artistic skills. all you need is 3dsmax and the JKJA humanoid-skeleton (.xsi) it's not something to draw or model but to re-assign all the model's geometry regions to the fitting bones of the JA skeleton. because as we know, not the model moves, but the skeleton inside it. JA has some more bones with the skeleton, making the moves a bit more relastic (or whatever they wanted to accomplish with adding more bones :D mostly the dual-anims)

anyways, kevin coyle, maker of the awsome ben kenobi model, makes a pack of ep1 and ep2 obi wans. they will look much better anyways.

I'm aware of KC's project, but it seems he has abandoned it for some time and moved on to Doom 3. http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?threadid=93680&perpage=40&pagenumber=5 As far as fixing them, are you saying that I basically just need to load up the Obi-Wans and swap their skeletons with JA humanoids?
