Hi.

I need help:

I wan't to do a good futurist map for a clan connecting the battle over coruscant map (space) and the Midgar map (huge futurist map). I want that you start in the BOC map, and if you descent to the Planet, you will continue in Midgar map.

So, can I connect those maps? How to do it?

misc_bsp combined with asteroid field through entity hacking...

I know two people who have managed to do this. Good luck =|

I don't mind that. I only want that you can go to both maps without need to change the map via console.

Well it's definitely possible, just to confirm what Razor said and get that out of the way. Razor mentioned linking them together with an asteroid field, and yeah that's actually how I've seen it being done as well. There is another way though, I've just no idea how to actually do it. I could ask someone who would though, so let me get back to you on that.

Well you could get permission (not likely), decompile them, merge them (not likely), fix the million errors that pop up (not likely), light them (good luck), and compile again, but...No

I sense that using misc_bsp will have disastrous results with maps of this size, nevermind the skyportal issue (though maybe Battle of Coruscant has one? Not sure). So basically there's no way to do this.

The idea of connecting two such maps is an interesting one, but considering the size of each, it would take aeons to compile. :/

Thing is, we're not talking about compiling anything. :p There's a way to modify the entities in a BSP without having to recompile the map, and you can place maps within other maps (Of-course there's restrictions - which this 'map' suffers from)
