Is there anyway somebody could make this darth vader breathing hilt overwrite a default hilt instead of making a new slot so it could be use in all servers? I am talking about this http://jediknight3.filefront.com/file/RotJ_Darth_Vader_Breathing_Hilt;46245

You want a hilt that breathes?

Why don't you just get this. Star Wars Saga Ultimate Hilt Pack, Jedi Knight 3 Downloads, Jedi Knight 3 Packs

It has 2 versions of every hilt. In it, is 2 versions of Vaders hilt. 1 version where its added as a new weapon like the one yu linked to. And another version that overwrites a default hilt in the game. You have to choose which version you want to use though because having both versions will mess up the game.

Based on the link he posted I'd guess he already has one. :)

I mean that the hilt he linked to, has Vaders breathing sound to add to the feel of being Vader.

Personally, I found it unnessecery to have a hilt with this feature because the sound doesnt stop even after you get accidently killed by a NPC of Jar Jar *don ask, its embarresing*.

uh that's kind of stupid, unless you have a Darth Vader skin to accompany that hilt.

That's the whole point of it. The saber sounds were specifically made to be used with Vader playermodels.

WOW if only all tutorials were so specific and helpful!

There are a couple of ways to go about replacing an original hilt with a custom one. You can either copy the model files (*.glm and *.md3) into the folder of the original hilt (found in assets1.pk3 in models/weapons), naming them so they overwrite those models, or you can alter the *.sab file (found in assets1.pk3 in ext_data/sabers) for the original hilt so that it points to the custom hilt.

You'll need a little modding experience for this to go smoothly. If you don't have any and you'd rather have someone do it for you provide us the link to the hilt and which hilt you'd like it to overwrite and I'm sure someone can whip you up a simple mod to do what you want.
