I've been having trouble reskinning the custom jedi models. When I open an image from the originals with Photoshop CS, I only see the parts of the image that cannot change color, the rest shows up as transparent, except with the icons, where all I see is the parts that can change color. If I edit the images and save them as a png, the parts that can change color through the profile menu change to flat white in game. So I was wondering if anybody had encountered this kind of problem before, and if so could tell me how to fix it. I looked through the forums and couldn't find anything that helped, I'm sorry if this has been posted before.
I've always saved them as .jpg's and they've worked fine.
and you can change the color of certain parts of them in game as the defaults do?
Oh, in that way(sorry I'd just woken up with only 3 hours of sleep) I have no clue on how to do that, sorry.
If its the Jedi_HF model your talking about,with the selectable menus options..? Then what your seeing is the blank transperency set aside for the shader effect. Probably the pant legg stripe your talking about correct?
I'm talking about all the custom jedi models, jedi_hm, hf, tf, ect. I'm looking for a way to 1. get the textures that are showing up as blank and 2. save the images correctly to make them color changeable in the custom profile screen.
If your having trouble seeing some of the files,try open those skins with paint(rite click/ open with/ paint) Re-save the skin again using the same ".png" or ".jpg" extension and open it up in photoshop yet again. You should be able to see the tranparent part now. Notice that the missing parts are all grey scale? Im pretty sure if you stay within that scale your customizations should reflect the shader.(dont quote me on this) Im not sure ,but common sense tells me, you should "save for web" when saveing out a ".png" Try preserving transparency when saveing,see if that works.
