I want to be able to use a saber hilt skin in any server... Without the server supporting it. There is a file called darthvaderhilt by broken_hope. He made it so that the hilt overwrote the adept hilt...I don't like adept hilt so it doesn't mind me ;p. To him it seems like he had no choice..but to me it's awesome..It means I can use the saber hilt in any server. Now I have this other hilt that is obi-wan by PK_AZlon..I like obi-wan hilts better than darth vader ones...But the problem is that it can't work in any server unless the server supports it. I tried renaming it all so that it would overwrite the adept hilt just like the darthvader one does. But...obviously it doesn't work.. Any help plz?

I edited the sab file..but it doesn't work... I edited it all to saber_4 (which is adept) and put the name as @MENUS_SABER_4 or something like that in sab file...to make it adept. But it just becomes another adept saber except with obiwan skin, and server's still won't support it. It doesn't overwrite the other adept saber, unlike my darth vader one...You'll understand if you try it ;o

Edit the top one. The other ones actually have to do with the hilt. ;)

Simplest way is just to take your saber file, and replace the .skin file to say the .skin of what model you wish to replace.

Have you even bothered looking at the file setup for the sabers? There isn't a .skin file. The model already references the textures, so a skin file isn't needed.

Anyways, here is a sample sab file: It's the dual_1 hilt. Don't ask me what it's name is, but we'll replace the dual_2 hilt with it.

Spoiler: Show
dual_1 { name @MENUS_STAFF_HILT1 saberType SABER_STAFF saberModel "models/weapons2/saber_dual_1/saber_dual_1.glm" soundOn "sound/weapons/saber/saberon.wav" soundLoop "sound/weapons/saber/saberhum4.wav" soundOff "sound/weapons/saber/saberoff.wav" saberColor random numBlades 2 saberLength 32 saberStyle staff throwable 0 singleBladeStyle medium singleBladeThrowable 1 brokenSaber1 brokenstaff brokenSaber2 brokenstaff twoHanded 1 }

Okay, so there we go. the line that has been changed will be highlighted.

Spoiler: Show
dual_2 { name @MENUS_STAFF_HILT1 saberType SABER_STAFF saberModel "models/weapons2/saber_dual_1/saber_dual_1.glm" soundOn "sound/weapons/saber/saberon.wav" soundLoop "sound/weapons/saber/saberhum4.wav" soundOff "sound/weapons/saber/saberoff.wav" saberColor random numBlades 2 saberLength 32 saberStyle staff throwable 0 singleBladeStyle medium singleBladeThrowable 1 brokenSaber1 brokenstaff brokenSaber2 brokenstaff twoHanded 1 }

In a nutshell, you change the line before the brackets. I've only done this with one or two hilts, but it's worked so far. Just type /saber dual_2 (on a JA+ server) or /saber1 dual_1 (on a real server)
