Alright guys, heres an idea I might start to kick off. It's called saber maker, where you can make your own personalised sabers for you, getting your name on yoursaber ingame and everything. This will have a small selection of sabers, they will be textureless and practicly bland and horrible. The file will come with a few items, a readme, a how to , the GIMP and Pacscape, aswell at the packs. These sabers will just be there, the UVmaps (Where your textures file goes) will have STRONG INDERCATIONS about the top and the bottem I'm planning on this, because alot of people want their own sabers, including myself. I'll attach some templates for sabers reqested as "the base" by myself. others may be added on if they think it should be. Saber Template 1 template1.jpg Saber Template 2 Template2.jpg Staff Template 1: StaffTemplate.jpg Staff Template 2 StaffTemplate2.jpg UV Map (What I think would be suitble) Preview UVmappreview.jpg EDIT: Both of the single sabers will have clips forgot to add, :) Thanks for reading this and taking your time to look at this, I hope your interested!

Your idea does sound a little nice. But who would want to give up on good old fashion modeling a hilt. =p

Thanks for posting!:) I do see where your coming from, but some people have not much talent in the design area or just can't get their head around something so this is for them and other people who cant be stuffed to pick up a program (eg.GMAX or 3DS Max) and use it constantly until they're proud of what they've done and are happy with it.

I'm going to start on boxy soon, as soon as I get my head around how to model the clip, any advice?

Here it is....so far this is what I've done, could an Admin please merge these posts I guess, been over 30 mins ;)

Alright one more thing, whoever says they can't model, etc, etc, you can. You know why?

If I can do it you can, I'm 13 years old and I can model a saber, so whats your excuse then, lazy?

You've hit the nail on the head. Most people who claim they can't model are simply too lazy to spend more than half an hour trying to learn the stuff. :vikki:

Some people need the right push or some inspiration. I mean really anyone can do it if they just stick to it. But I mean think about. You start modeling hilts. Maybe it will click in your head "maybe I should try making a map model, like a chair!". Then possibly from there "maybe modeling my own custom character!". If you ask for help I'm sure people will be more then willing to give you a hand and who knows where it might take you.

Have a drink on the house and keep it up!

This is a good idea. I did something like this last year. I made a saber, put it in game, color coded the uvmap(and included a screenshot of it with the color coded map applied for reference purposes), and wrote up a HUGE read me with directions and what not, then deleted it. I didnt feel like releasing it for the purpose you stated above. I think hilt making is the easiest modeling thing in this game. It just takes some practice and time, and maybe a few questions.

Tis done.......but textures don't appear ingame, and my backhand model I made doesn't seem to be working either! :\ can I hire a few people with a knowledge of saber making that I can send my files to then they fix up?

Say...I make the models, UV map, tags, export, make textures, and you make all the stuff to make it look good ingame :)

Sorry again for double post -.-

I made the Hilt Template 1, it does not have a clip on it due to holster issues, also- I need help, when I put in both sabers in the same PK3, when I select either Saber 1 (Saber Template ) or Saber 1 Backhand, the game crashes. Help please!

you probably have some name conflict with the base sabers or something like that.
